Karen Jeanne Prelle Binney, age 77, of Charlottesville Va., died on July 11, 2023 at Louisa Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the daughter of the late Mildred Deutsch Prelle and Walter Prelle. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Michael
Binney Sr., and her son, Barry Binney.
Karen retired from NGIC after 33 years of Service. After retirement, Karen attended The Virginia School of Massage, and opened
her own office which enabled her to travel, which she enjoyed. She greatly missed her companions, Gypsy, Pongo, Amber, Taggie,
Rocky Skye, Kelsey, Sage and Sammy the cat. Karen had numerous special friends throughout her life that touched her heart, and
whom she spoke fondly of.
Karen is survived by her children, Michele McCauley and husband Boyd McCauley, Marsha Binney-Wells, and Michael Binney
Jr.; special companion, Latke; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Shelia Prelle, Eva DuBose, Lauren
Goodwin, Monica Carlton; nephews, William Binney, David Binney, Greg Binney, Matt Binney; and cousins, Stephanie Watkins,
John Deutsch.

The funeral Service will be held on 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Hebrew Cemetery, 740 1st St S., Charlottesville, VA
22902, with Latifa Kropf officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to P’nai Yisrael Chavurah, 3160 Waverly Drive,
Charlottesville, VA. 22901, or to a local charity of your choice.
