Heishman Funeral Home staff sends condolences to the family of Mr. Martin Bauserman.
Martin L. Bauserman, Jr. (Mart), 90, of Woodstock, passed away on Wednesday, November
2, 2022, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
Martin was born on November 22, 1931, in Toms Brook, VA to Elva Catherine Senseney
Bauserman and Martin Luther Bauserman, Sr. He graduated from Toms Brook High School in
1949, enlisted in USAF in 1952, and served during the Korean Conflict as an airplane
mechanic. After an honorable discharge, he worked as an automotive mechanic specializing
in carburetor and transmission repair. He retired from Muhlenberg Motors Ford of
Woodstock in 1993.
Mart loved working in his garden and yard. He loved sports. He played football and
basketball in high school, as well as played softball and baseball on Shenandoah County
teams. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
He was a member of United Methodist Church of Woodstock and the American Legion Post
199.
Married to Nancy Jean Boyer Bauserman for 58 years, who survives him along with his
daughter, Theresa Funk (Larry); granddaughter, Amanda Gulla (JP); and great-grandson, Gino
Gulla. Also, survived by sisters; Geraldine Gagnon, College Park, GA, Sarah Bagnell,
Strasburg, Kay Wetzel (Glenn), and Fay Layman of Woodstock, and a brother; Clark
Bauserman, of Woodstock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; Michael Bauserman, sisters; Hilda Wolfe,
Louise Totten, Maryanna Lichliter, Shirley Mauck, and brothers; Floyd Bauserman and Ray
Bauserman.
The family would like to thank Greenfield Assisted Living for their loving care while Mart was
a resident.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Panorama
Cemetery in Strasburg. Pastor Keon Huh will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by
Woodstock American Legion Post 199.
