Trevynn Lee Awkard, 23 years of age was a resident of Greenwood, Virginia, whom tragically passed away from
a car accident on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
He was born August 31, 2000 in Charlottesville, Virginia to JaRon and Erica (Rose) Awkard.
If you knew Trevynn you knew he loved music. He recently took interest in learning to play the trumpet and the
guitar. He enjoyed teaching himself and learning alongside his friends. To know Trevynn is to love Trevynn. He
was a very humble, funny and loving young man. He loved watching and playing football it was truly a passion
throughout the entirety of his life. Trevynn was a very versatile person which helped his development of
lifelong friendships on and off the field.
Trevynn was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Peggy Dyer; grandfather, Charles Awkard, Sr. and an
uncle, Charles “Tank” Awkard, Jr.
Trevynn is survived by his parents; grandmother, Mary Gibson; sister, Taylor Turner; brother, Ty’shawn Awkard
and nephew, Bryson Smith; a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church in
Greenwood, Virginia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery in Yancey Mills.
