Clyde Armentrout, 88


Clyde Armentrout, 88, of Upper Tract, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin, W.Va.

Mr. Armentrout was born July 6, 1918, in Kline, W.Va., and was the son of the late Charles "Pop" Armentrout and Eva Jane "Janie" Harman Armentrout.

He had worked as a mechanic for Petersburg Motor Company for more than 35 years and was a member of Christ Central Community Church.

On Nov. 16, 1940, he married Rispa Lee Mullenax Armentrout; she preceded him in death Dec. 8, 2001.

Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Tulin of Weyers Cave and Linda Hoover of Laurel, Md.; three sons, Robert G. Armentrout of Upper Tract, W.Va., Clyde Douglas Armentrout of Glen Burnie, Md., and Larry K. Armentrout of Franklin, W.Va.; a sister, Shirley Ours of Dorcas, W.Va.; a brother, Harman Armentrout of Baltimore, Md., 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Ed Null will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, W.Va. Burial will be in the Kline Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
