James W. Arendall, 64


James Willard Arendall, 64, a resident at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 151 Ridgeview Drive, Stuarts Draft, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Arendall was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Danville, and was a son of Wilsie Arendall Hill of Ringgold and late Earl Willard "Pete" Arendall.

He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was a 1960 graduate of Dan River High School and a 1967 graduate of Danville Technical Institute with an associate degree in electronics technology. He was an Air Force veteran and was last employed by Comdial as a designer of test equipment.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Jean Hilliard, on Nov. 9, 2005.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his children, Jonathan Michael Arendall of Stuarts Draft, Sherry Lynn Huffman of Bridgewater and Daniel Jason Arendall of Stuarts Draft; and a brother, David Arendall of Ringgold.

Pastor Don McClure will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
