Helen C. Arehart, 81


Helen Dorothy (Cline) Arehart, 81, widow of Crawford E. Arehart, of 3720 River Bend Drive, Elkton, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her residence.

She was born August 8, 1925 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Harry L. and Hattie Merle (Benson) Cline.

Mrs. Arehart was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Bosserman, Cecil Jones, Frances Kesterson, and Mae Cline.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Family members include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary Arehart of Harrisonburg, Jay and Shari Arehart of Weyers Cave, and Thomas and Jamie Arehart of Elkton; a daughter, Dianne Swiger of Verona; nine grandchildren, Michelle Warren, Elizabeth Wiseman, Jessica Warren, Cheyenne Swiger, Cynthia Arehart, Jared Arehart, Raeann Carter, Morgan Arehart, and T. J. Arehart; and five great grandchildren, Raven Purvis, Summer Purvis, Stormie Wiseman, Misti Wiseman, and Jason Wiseman.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007 in the White Hill Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Matthew P. Fike and James I. Chappell. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jared Arehart, Edward Jones, Robert Driver, Gerald Garber, Keith Wilson, and Paul Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today, August 3, 2007, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at her residence in Elkton.
