Vivian G. Arbogast, 73


Vivian Grace “Peggy” Arbogast, 73, of Staunton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville.

Mrs. Arbogast was born on Feb. 27, 1934, in Durbin, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Charles Ezra and Daisy Dell Simmons Simmons.

She retired in 2003 as a nurse’s aide at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, after 30 years of service. She attended the Staunton Alliance.

Her husband, Harvey Arbogast, preceded her in death on April 4, 2006.

She is survived by four daughters, Ruth Shifflett of Bridgewater, Jeannette Hartsook of Staunton, Peggy Dunlap of Harrisonburg and Vickie Lockhart of Mathias, W.Va.; four sons, Donald “Bimbo” Arbogast, Jerry Arbogast and David Arbogast, all of Harrisonburg and Kenny Arbogast of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Violet Carnes of Delray, W.Va., and Christine Crickard of Jarrettsville, Md.; 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. on Saturday at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
