Ruth A. Arbogast

Ruth Amanda Arbogast, 81, of Romney, W.Va., and formerly of Moorefield, W.Va., died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital in Romney, W.Va.

Mrs. Arbogast was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Parkersburg, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late James O. Flinn Sr. and Hannah Marie Toomey Flinn.

She was a past member of Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 102.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Thorne, in 1968, and her second husband, Russell Arbogast in 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Denton Thorne of Romney, W.Va., and Gary Throne of York, Pa.; two stepsons, Larry Arbogast of Orange, and Jim Arbogast of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a daughter, Linda Saville of Augusta, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, Pam Williams of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, W.Va. Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
