Harvey Arbogast, 80


Harvey Arbogast, 80, of Mathias, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Arbogast was born July 7, 1925, in Durbin, W.Va., and was a son of the late Dixie and Annie VanDevender Arbogast.

He retired from Walker Manufacturing in Harrisonburg.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Grace "Peggy" Simmons Arbogast; four daughters, Ruth Shifflett of Bridgewater, Jeanette Hartsook of Staunton, Peggy Dunlap of Harrisonburg, and Vickie Lockhart of Mathias; four sons, Donald "Bimbo" Arbogast, Jerry Arbogast and David Arbogast, all of Harrisonburg, and Kenny Arbogast of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Maxine Cromer and JoAnne Currence, both of Durbin, W.Va.; four brothers, Greene Arbogast and Dan Arbogast, both of Durbin, Vere Arbogast of Ohio, and Henry Arbogast of Arbovale, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Pastor Richard L. Forsythe will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at 402 North River Road in Bridgewater, at other times.
