Broscoe Arbogast

Broscoe Arbogast, 90, of Franklin, W.Va., died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at the Pendleton Nursing Home in Franklin, W.Va.

Mr. Arbogast was born Jan. 11, 1913, near Monterey, and was the son of the late Jesse Arbogast and Kate Fleisher Arbogast.

He was a farmer and a security guard at Sugar Grove Naval Radio Station. He had worked at several sawmills, Vepco Dam, and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways in 1978. He was a member of the former Harper’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

His first wife, Jessie Lambert Arbogast, preceded him in death Nov. 15, 1975.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ora Black Kesner Arbogast, whom he married Sept. 10, 1987; three stepsons, Craig Kesner of Morgantown, W.Va., Dan Kesner of McLean, and Chris Kesner of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Esther Vandevander of Franklin, W.Va.; a stepgrandson and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Stanley Kile will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, W.Va. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Friends may call at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pendleton Nursing Home Nursing Equipment Fund, Pendleton County Rescue Squad, or a charity of choice.
