Lonnie Eugene Arbaugh, age 71, of Monterey, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at Shenandoah House-Augusta Health.
He was born April 15, 1951 in Circleville, WV, a son of the late Willie David and Regana (Wimer)Arbaugh. He married Betty
Lou Beverage on December 21, 1969.
Ahard worker, Lonnie worked for Howe’s Leather for 22 ½ years and went on to work at Walker’s for an additional 18 years
until his retirement. In addition to his full-time work, Lonnie mowed and maintained Beverage Memorial Cemetery for over 40
years. Lonnie was a devout Christian and member of Word of Faith Church.
An avid hunter and softball player, Lonnie spent years playing softball and was said to be one of the best outfielders in the
league. In his later years, he and Betty enjoyed watching the adult co-ed softball league every Thursday evening. His favorite
hobbies and passions were cutting wood and mowing grass.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by daughters, Lisa Arbaugh of Staunton and Amy Strunk and husband, Mickey
of Richmond, KY; son, Brady Mullins of the home; brothers, Larry, Billy, Kermit, Richard, Dwight, and Galen Arbaugh all of
Circleville, WV and Johnny Arbaugh ofAkron, OH; sister, Regana “Olive” Thompson of New Creek, WV; grandchildren,
Micaela Mullins and Caleb Clatterbaugh; as well as two great-grandchildren, Griffen and Kyla.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Wesley EugeneArbaugh.
Afuneral service will be held 1p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor Chip Hill and pastor Todd
Pyle officiating. Burial will follow in Beverage Family Cemetery on Strait Creek Road.
Active pallbearers will be Bob Beverage, Wayne Beverage, Mickey Strunk, Dwight Arbaugh, Steven Arbaugh, Jason Arbaugh,
Johnny Arbaugh and Eli Pyle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Hammer, Berlin Beverage, Jim Beverage and Caleb Clatterbaugh.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday the 10th at the funeral home.
