Murvel Eugene Annan


Murvel Eugene Annan. 91, of Bridgewater, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Bridgewater Home.

He was born in Coin, Iowa, on July 11, 1920, and was a son of the late Harry Weldon and Ruth Ellen (Porter) Annan.

Murvel was a professor at Wagoner College in New York City, N.Y., and retired in 1981.

He was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.

Murvel was united in marriage on Jan. 13, 1945, to Helen Craig (Howes) Annan, who preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2006.

Murvel is survived by a sister, Chrystal Johnson of Waverly, Neb., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Annan.

A memorial service will be held at Lantz Chapel of the Bridgewater Retirement Community at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, with Chaplain Debra Huffman and the Rev. Jeffery Carr officiating.
