Helen H. Annan


Helen Howes Annan, 87, of Bridgewater, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at the Bridgewater Home.

Mrs. Annan was born July 4, 1919, in Lakeland, Fla., and was the daughter of the late Roy Francis and Virginia Craig Howes.

She was a retired teacher at Wagner College on Staten Island in New York. She was a member of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, and in the Altruistic Sunday school class. She volunteered at the Community Mediation Center in Harrisonburg.

On Jan. 13, 1945, she married Murvel Eugene Annan; he survives in Bridgewater.

Also surviving are two sisters, Carolyn Branch of New Jersey and Emily Young of Ithaca, N.Y.

The Rev. Robert E. Alley will conduct a memorial service 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.
