Marjorie K. Andes, 89


Mrs. Marjorie Kathleen Andes, 89, of New Market, passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 8, 2009, at the Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born Aug. 4, 1920, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late William and Zora House Zirkle.

Mrs. Andes graduated from Broadway High School and was a retired seamstress from the former Aileen Inc. of New Market, where she was employed for 30 years. Marjorie was also employed for almost 30 years as a waitress and hostess at the Southern Kitchen Restaurant in New Market.

She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market.

Her husband, Harry B. Andes, passed away on Aug. 10, 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Olinger and her husband, Ron, of New Market, and two grandsons, Cary Olinger and his fianc?e, Donielle Weatherholtz, and Kevin Olinger and his fianc?e, Jill Young.

The Revs. Jeffrey Sonafelt and Debbie Dukes will conduct a memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reformation Lutheran Church. A private graveside service for the family will be held earlier in the afternoon at Emmanuel Cemetery in New Market.

Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. today at the Theis Funeral Home in New Market, where the family will receive friends 7-8 this evening.

At Marge’s request, the casket will remain closed.
