Donald R. Andes

Donald Reid Andes, 58, of 1293 Lee Highway, Verona, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at his home. He had not been well for the past 22 months.

Mr. Andes was born June 22, 1946, in Augusta County, and was a son of the late A. Bryan and Vivian Holsinger Andes.

He was a member of the Middle River Church of the Brethren, where he was treasurer and deacon for many years and was also a Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Mount Sidney Ruritan Club, where he served as treasurer and was a programmer and poultry farmer for Rocco.

On July 16, 1965, he married Nora Abbie Crummett, who survives.

He is also survived by three sons, Bryan G. Andes of Verona, Michael L. Andes of Fishersville and Mark A. Andes of Waynesboro; a brother, Joe Andes of Fort Defiance; six grandchildren and three nieces.

His body will be cremated at the Lindsey Cremation Chapel. The Revs. Emerson Fike and Nathan Myers will conduct a memorial service 4 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the Middle River Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends following the service and at the Andes home at any time.
