John Q. Anderson

John Quentin Anderson, 78, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Mr. Anderson was born May 19, 1926, in Smithfield, W.Va., and was the son of the late Friend F. Anderson and Mary Slider Anderson.

He retired from maintenance at Wetzel County Schools and was a veteran of World War II. He attended Main Street United Methodist Church and was a member of the New Martinsville Moose Club.

In November 1972, he married Mary Elizabeth Hartline, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Billy Keith Anderson of Morgantown, W.Va.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. William Haynes will conduct the funeral 3 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Green Lawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, W.Va.

Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Grant County Nursing Home or a charity of choice.
