Grace H. Anderson, 83


Grace H. Anderson, 83, of Seneca Rocks, W.Va., died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Anderson was born June 13, 1925, in Onego, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Kenneth Mallow and Zernie Phares Mallow.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Anderson, in 1981, and a companion, Melvin Vance in 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Anderson and Nonly Anderson, both of Baltimore, Md.; five daughters, Patricia Kinser, JoAnn Anderson, Wanda Barncord, and Abbie Shifflett, all of Baltimore, Md., and Debra Heartlove of Churchhill, Md.; 29 grandchildren, including Joe Holbrook, whom she raised; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last survivor of her immediate family.

Rebecca L. Bennett will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. today at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg.

Friends were received Sunday at the funeral home.
