Hilda L. Ambrose, 88


Hilda Lee Ambrose, 88, of Mount Jackson, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Ambrose was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Edinburg, daughter of the late Vernon Raymond and Clara Ellen Weatherholtz Bowers.

She was a graduate of Triplett High School in Mount Jackson and was a member of Mount Jackson United Methodist Church.

She was married Nov. 20, 1943, to Joseph Moore Ambrose, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2000.

Mrs. Ambrose is survived by two sons, Gary Moore Ambrose of Mount Crawford and Larry Lee Ambrose of Mount Jackson; and two grandchildren, Sabrina Ambrose and Timothy Ambrose.

The funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Jackson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Jackson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Estep, Douglas Estep II, Warren Hepler, Brian Hepler, Richard Lutz and Richard Orndorff.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson.
