H. Keith Alt

Henry Keith Alt, 77, of Arthur, W.Va., died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at his home.

Mr. Alt was born May 1, 1928, in Forman, W.Va., and was the son of the late Theodore "Ted" Alt and Clarice Frye Alt.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 78. He retired from the Grant County (W.Va.) Board of Education. He was a member of Petersburg (W.Va.) Lodge No. 145 A.F.&A.M. and a member of Osiris Shriners of Wheeling, W.Va. He was also a member of the Petersburg (W.Va.) Chapter No. 146 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Grove Street United Methodist Church.

His wife of 57 years, Irene Turley Alt, survives.

Also surviving are a son, Wayne Keith Alt of Chesterfield, a daughter, Tammy Alt Judy of Arthur, W.Va., and two granddaughters.

The Rev. Richard L. Longbon will conduct the funeral 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial with Masonic graveside rites by the Petersburg Lodge No. 145 A.F.&A.M. will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Petersburg (W.Va.) Lodge No. 145 A.F.&A.M. or a charity of choice.
