Elsie M. Alt, 86


Elsie Mae Coleman Alt, 86, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, W.Va.

Mrs. Alt was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Petersburg, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late John Thomas Coleman and Ethel Mae Jenkins Coleman.

She was custodian for Park Motel and Hermitage Motel in Petersburg for over 25 years and was a member of Memorial Church of the Brethren in Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John William Sears on Oct. 12, 1990, and her second husband, Albert K. Alt, on Jan. 6, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Charles Vance Sears of Maysville, W.Va., and a brother, Eddie A. Coleman of Falling Waters, W.Va.

The Revs. Harold Cullers and Joseph Eversole will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Friday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be at South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
