Denisa L. Alt

Denisa L. "Boots" Alt, 79, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.

Mrs. Alt was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Upper Tract, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Daniel Alt and Eula Sears Judy Parker.

She retired in 1984 from the A&P Store in Petersburg, W.Va. She was a member of Petersburg Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the VFW Post No. 6454 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post No. 78 Ladies Auxiliary of Petersburg, W.Va.

Her husband, Berkley Snowden Alt, preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1965.

Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca A. Hammer of Petersburg, W.Va.; a son, Dr. Benjamin D. Alt of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Eleanor Dawson of Petersburg, W.Va., and Martha Runions of Lahmansville, W.Va., and two grandchildren.

The Rev. Richard Cardot will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery in Lahmansville, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va.
