Jennie M. Almond

Jennie Mitchell Almond, 88, of 190 Pigeon Run Road in Gladys, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Runk & Pratt Residential Adult Care.

Mrs. Almond was born June 29, 1915, in Campbell County, and was a daughter of the late William Clarence Mitchell and Dotha Reynolds Mitchell.

She was a member of Kedron Baptist Church and a retired employee of Lynchburg General Hospital.

Her husband, Surpell Morgan Almond, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce A. Brown of Shipman and Agnes A. Dickerson of Harrisonburg; a sister, Mary Lou Cline of Lawrenceville, Ga.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Rev. John P. Campbell will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at Kedron Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 this evening at Finch & Finch Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service in Gladys. Friends may call at the Almond home at other times.
