Sue Allen, 73


Sue Allen, 73, of Luray, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Luray, and was a daughter of the late Albert and Anna Huffman Black.

She worked for the Department of Navy Jag as a division secretary for 18 years and retired in 1974.

On Oct. 5, 1968, she married Claude "Al" Allen, who preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Andrea A. Long; and two sisters, Judy Anne Carter and Patsy Carol (Black) Painter, all of Luray.

Elder Archie Webster will conduct a memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, where visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
