Gladys M. Alkire
Gladys Mae Alkire, 64, of Barbershop Road, Edinburg, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Eldercare Nursing Home in Woodstock.
Mrs. Alkire was born June 15, 1938, in Wilkesboro, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Paul and Bell Blankenship Baker.
She was an LPN at Life Care Center in New Market and was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock.
Her husband, Billy J. Alkire, preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Wilkins of Sterling, Cindy Sager of Edinburg, and Pam Ray of Woodstock; a sister, Mary Belle Morgan of North Carolina; a brother, Donald Baker of Culpeper; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Everette Burner will conduct a memorial service 7 p.m. Friday at Lords Chapel, Belgravia Road, Edinburg.
Memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., Winchester, Va., 22601.
Arrangements are by Valley Funeral Chapel in Bowmans Crossing.
