Robert EdwardAlger, Jr., 64, of Stanley, Va. passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at home. Mr.Alger was born in Cherry Point, N.C. on October 14, 1958, to the late Robert Edward Sr. and Violet Louise BowlingAlger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, StaceyAlger and brothers, RandolphAlger and MartinAlger. Bob G will be remembered as a loving husband, father and a dedicated family man.Aloyal friend to whomever crossed his path. He was a hard worker with a selfless and giving soul. Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra FreezeAlger; five daughters, Bobbie Jo Alger of Stanley, VictoriaAlger of Luray, Jennifer Shifflett,Ashley Moore and Monica Morris, all of Stanley; sister, Barbara Bryant and husband, Kent; brother, JamesAlger; special sisters, Deborah Breeden and Cathy Cardin; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Riverview Independent Gospel Church, 259 Wampler Road in Stanley A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the church with Pastor Jeff Lucas officiating.
