Luella C. Alger, 76


Luella Catherine Alger, age 76, of 2133 Beahm Lane in Rileyville, Va., died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Rileyville.

Mrs. Alger was born Oct. 18, 1929, in Mathias, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Lory Ernest Cullers and Elsie Mae (Mathias) Cullers.

She was a homemaker, farmer and housewife. She was a member of Rileyville Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Page Valley Sportsman’s Club.

On April 21, 1951, she married Jacob E. "Gene" Alger, who survives.

In addition to her husband, survivors include four sons, Gary "Joe" E. Alger and his wife, Cathy, of Luray, Tony A. Alger and his wife, Marie, of Palmyra, Steve G. Alger and his wife, Beth, of Luray, and Ricky L. Alger of Rileyville; a daughter, Debra C. Clamon and her husband, Shawn, of Rileyville; a brother, Lory Elwood Cullers of Timberville; a sister, Alta Grace Fleming of Timberville; eight grandsons, Travis Alger, Andy Alger, Jason Alger, Scott Alger, Jeff Alger, Chuck Alger, Lefton Good and Jeremy Alger; three granddaughters, Jennifer Alger, Betsy Breeden and Sheena Alger and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Wayne Cullers.

The Rev. David Johnson will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Rileyville Baptist Church. Burial will be at Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter at anytime.
