Eva C. Alfred

Eva C. "Nana" Alfred, 86, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Winchester Manor.

Mrs. Alfred was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Mayland, and was the daughter of the late Franklin Bowman and Elsie Crider Bowman.

She was a caretaker and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In 1940, she married Walter Alfred, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice I. Wolford of Pasadena, Md., and Patricia A. Kreun of Winchester; a brother, Henry Bowman of Kentucky; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Cemetery of the Brethren in Mayland.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
