Janet L. Alexander, 71


Janet Louise Alexander, 71, of Mount Jackson, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she had lived for the past three months.

Mrs. Alexander was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Mount Jackson, and was a daughter of the late Harold Rudolph and Kenza Zirkle Myers.

She was a sales representative for Hepner Brothers in Mount Jackson for several years and later worked at Arlington Treatment Center in Harrisonburg. She graduated from Harrisonburg High School and was a member of Vision of Hope United Methodist Church in Harrisonburg.

On April 17, 1958, she married Robert Donald "Don" Alexander, who preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1980.

She is survived by three sons, Eric Alan Alexander of Cincinnati, Ohio, Todd William Alexander of Harrisonburg, and Neil Wade Alexander of Grottoes; a brother, Dale Funkhouser of Edinburg; a sister, Pat Robinson of Hinton; a stepsister, Lois Ramey of South Carolina and five grandchildren.

The Revs. David C. Lagerveld and C. Edward Pruitt will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 this evening at the funeral home.
