Herbert G. Alexander Jr.

Dr. Herbert G. Alexander Jr., 53, of Castle Rock, Wash., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Seattle, Wash.

Dr. Alexander was born Aug. 20, 1951, and was the son of Herbert Gentry Alexander Sr. and June Pafford Alexander of Quicksburg.

He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed post-graduate training in pathology and nuclear medicine in Texas and California.

Dr. Alexander served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from July 1980 to August 1990. He was later a physician in Washington and California.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Karen Kolina Alexander; two daughters, Mary Katherine Alexander and Margaret Elizabeth Alexander, both of Knoxville, Tenn., and two sisters, Elizabeth Pleasants of Fredericksburg and Jane Dellinger of Nitro, W.Va.

A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. today at St. Rose Church in Longview, Wash.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Saturday at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson.
