Edwin G. Alexander


Edwin Guy Alexander of Davis, Calif., died Feb. 22, 2007.

Mr. Alexander was born Aug. 9, 1921, near Kline, W.Va.

He Attended Franklin High School and was drafted into the Army and began his service in October 1942. On D-Day, June 6, he was part of the historic assault and landed on Utah Beach. He was also involved in the Battle of the Bulge, the Danube River and Rhine River Campaigns. When the war ended in 1945, he returned to civilian life.

He married Mary Hedrick and they had one son, Donald. His second wife, the former Gertrude Prater, preceded him in death. He is survived by three brothers, Warnie, Marvin and Raymond; three sisters, Neva, Grace and Eva Mae and two grandsons.
