Ruby P. Aleshire

Ruby Pauline Aleshire, age 64, of 2269 Pine Grove Road in Stanley, Va., died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Aleshire was born Dec. 20, 1940, in Elkton, Va., and was a daughter of the late Mary Arbutis (Hammer) Meadows and Hermon Jefferson Meadows.

She was a lineman for 40 years with Aliance Co. in Shenandoah and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

On Oct. 27, 1979, she married Glenwood Gay Aleshire, who survives.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Herman J. Hutchinson, and a daughter, Sharon K. Shifflett, both of Elkton; three grandsons, George Shifflett, Dustin Shifflett and H.J. Hutchinson Jr., and a granddaughter, Stacie Shifflett, all of Elkton; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Shifflett and Dillon Shifflett of Elkton; three sisters, Daisy McDaniel Wright of Shenandoah and Joyce Merica and Beulah Dean Raynes, both of Elkton; two brothers, James Meadows of Elkton and Billy Meadows of Shenandoah, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Meadows, and a sister, Ruth Morris.

The Rev. Bruce Gray and Pastor Frank E. Good Jr. will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Stanley.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 15 at the funeral home.
