Max Lee Aleshire, 69


Max Lee Aleshire, age 69, of 627 East Main St. in Stanley, Va., died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at MontVue Nursing Home in Luray.

Mr. Aleshire was born June 1, 1938, in Stanley, and was a son of the late Everett Lee Aleshire and Recie Gay (Pettit) Aleshire.

He worked in maintenance at Shenandoah National Park for 20 years. He was manager at Investors Loan in Luray from 1965-1970 and became a union carpenter until 1978 and worked with the Park Service until June 1, 1998. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the New Market Eagles 4264 and the Luray Moose No. 1413.

On June 23, 1993, he married Linda Kay Dodson, who died Sept. 17, 2003.

Survivors include a son, Monte Lee Aleshire and wife, Jackie M. Aleshire; a brother, Glenwood G. Aleshire; a sister, Judy Stoneberger and two granddaughters, Alyssa Aleshire and Michele Aleshire, all of Stanley.

Pastor Frank Good Jr. and the Rev. Bruce Gray will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Stanley with military honors by the Shenandoah VFW.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at the funeral home.
