Dorothy M. Aleshire

Dorothy Marie Aleshire, 86, of 3280 Comertown Road in Shenandaoh, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Life Care Center in New Market.

Mrs. Aleshire was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Shenandoah, and was a daughter of the late David Ernest Henderson and Minnie Marie Andrews Henderson.

She was a textile worked with Avisco and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

On Dec. 17, 1941, she married Wilbur Dennis Aleshire, who preceded her in death July 10, 1995.

Survivors include a son, Rondal L. Henderson of Stanley; two sisters, Catherine H. Weakley of Stanley and Frances H. Foltz of Shenandoah; Carolyn Rose Shifflet of Elkton, whom she raised; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. today at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where friends were received Tuesday evening. Burial will be at the Sam Comer Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Arrangements are by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
