Margie M. Alder

Margie Mae Dahmer Alder, 87, of Ruxton Healthcare Center, formerly Oak Hill Center in Staunton, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003.

Mrs. Alder was born May 15, 1916, in Franklin, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Preston and Mary Hevner Dahmer.

She attended school in Franklin, W.Va., and lived in Harrisonburg most of her life.

In 1942, she married George B. Alder, who preceded her in death in 1966.

She is survived by three sons, H. Boyd Alder of Fishersville, Ernest Preston Alder of Harrisonburg, and Michael Lee Johnson of Richmond; a daughter, Beverley Payne of Crew; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Revs. Frank Hall and Ray Deese will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Herwin Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
