Mildred B. Albrite, 90


Mildred Brown Albrite, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at Manor Care Center in Arlington, Va.

She was born Sept. 27, 1915, at Edom, Va., the daughter of the late Marvin and Sadie Houff Brown.

She graduated from Linville-Edom High School in 1933. Upon her marriage to Raymond D. Albrite, she moved to Arlington, Va. She was employed by Hecht’s Department Store in the business office until her retirement. She was also an active member of Community Methodist Church in Arlington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Albrite, in 1985, and her daughter, Betty Albrite Johnson, in 1985.

Survivors are her grandchildren, Brian Johnson (Dawnn) of Front Royal, Va., Debi Waltrup (Dave) of Stewartstown, Pa., Tara Comuzzi (Mauro) of Miami, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Roy Johnson (Kathy) of Falls Church, Va.; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown Funkhouser and Maxine Brown Dean, both of Harrisonburg, Va.; her nieces, Mildred Turner (Wendell) of Richmond, Va., Donna Simmons and Anita Wayland, both of Harrisonburg, Va.; and a special neighbor of 50 years, Evelyn Baker.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, 12:30 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery, Falls Church, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vince Lombardi Cancer Research.
