Jason G. Aholtz, 30


Jason Griffith Aholtz, age 30, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Harrisonburg, Va., departed this life on Friday, June 30, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jason was born in Richmond, Va. on April 2, 1976.

Jason was a 1994 graduate of J.R. Tucker High School and attended Westover Hills United Methodist Church. Prior to Jason’s illness, he worked at Buffalo Wild Wings in Harrisonburg, Va. and was pursuing a career in computer technology.

Jason is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Leigh Voskamp; his father, David G. Aholtz of Urbanna, Va. and mother, Pamela J. Taylor of Richmond, Va.; his stepmother, Rosemarie Aholtz of Urbanna, Va.; two stepsisters, Janet and Ellen Coppins of Northern Virginia; his parents-in-law, Carl and Chris Voskamp of Winchester, Va.; his brother-in-law, Jason Voskamp of Orlando, Fla.; and many close friends. Jason was preceded in death by all of his maternal and paternal grandparents. Jason had an amazing spirit and a vigorous love for life.

Private services will be held by the Rev. Steven B. Wells and family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va.

In lieu of flowers, Jason and the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
