John Adams

John Adams, 64, of Winchester, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at the Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Adams was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Washington, D.C., and was a son of the late Thomas Edwin and Agnes Kennedy Adams.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired building contractor.

He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Adams of New Orleans, La.; three brothers, Thomas E. Adams of McDowell, Bert K. Adams of Staunton, and Robert L. Adams of Timberville; and three sisters, Betty Baker of McLean, Anne Gresham of Columbia, and John Vipperman of Winchester.

The Rev. Lewis C. Armentrout Jr. will conduct the funeral 1 p.m. Monday at Fairview Church of the Brethren, south of New Market. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. The casket will be closed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
