Catheryn V. Adams

Catheryn Virginia Adams, 89, of Luray, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at MontVue Nursing Home in Luray.

She was born Sept. 26, 1913, in Millville, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Frank and Irene Thompson Angelo.

Mrs. Adams served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II and the Woodrow Wilson Army, Winchester Memorial and South Leesburg Hospitals, and for the Fairfax County Public Health Department. She owned and operated the former Purcellville Nursing Home. She moved to Luray in 1980.

On July 9, 1950, she married Howard Frank Adams, who preceded her in death May 24, 2000.

Surviving are one brother, Charles Angelo of Annandale, and several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Sharon Wiggins will conduct the funeral service Tuesday at 2 p.m. at The Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.

Friends may register Monday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
