Cemetery Notes

Notes taken from the D.A.R. recording: This cemetery was moved in 1940 from "Stonewall Cottage", the Woolf-Dovel-Stevens home from 1783 to 1938, to the Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg, Virginia. On the removal to Woodbine, the original marble tombstones were replaced by new granite monuments. Laura Belle Stephens and Sallie Georgiana Stephens, the two last remaining members of the family, had been interred in Woodbine Cemetery, prior to the removal from the family cemetery on Route 11.
