Cemetery Notes

Cemetery is not well maintained and overgrown. Many stones are broken off and buried. It is also possible that some of the stones may have been removed. In 1928 John W. Wayland noted: There are several graves that do not have stones, only boards or rough stones. Probably name of old graves cannot now be located at all. The old Baptist Church here was torn down some 20 years ago and removed a mile or two east, by the railroad near Mt. Crawford Station, but a good many persons have been buried in the old graveyard since the church was moved away. Several large oaks stand in the cemetery lot.
