Cemetery Notes
Part of the cemetery is maintained with a fence around it. This area is noted as Section 1 and there are many unmarked graves and some marked with rocks. Section 2 is outside the fence and in the brush/trees area. There appears to be many unmarked graves and some marked with rocks. In the 1960s, the D.A.R. made the following notations; 12 graves marked with white paint-no names; 29 graves unmarked with stones. In 2005 there was no indication of white paint.

Lynwood area, Rockingham County, Virginia. In Harrisonburg, from the intersection of Route 11 (South Main Street) and Route 659 (Port Republic Road), turn left (east) onto Route 659 and go 12.1 miles. Turn left onto Route 340 (East Side Hwy). Go 2.1 miles and turn right onto Ore Bank Road. Go 1 mile on Ore Bank Road. On the left side of the road is a residence address 7955 Ore Bank Road. Across from this address, on the right side of road you will find a chain crossing a dirt lane. Walk in on dirt lane and you will find cemetery to the right on top of a small hill.
