Cemetery Notes
Well maintained - no fence. In 1967 J. Robert Swank noted: There may be others buried here. Located in open pasture field (present day college campus). In Dr. Wayland's book, History of Rockingham County, Virginia, John Dinkle was said to be the founder of Dinkletown, presently Bridgewater. About 1810 he built a carding mill, a sawmill, and a grist mill on the north side of the river, about a quarter of a mile below the bridge.
